How do I pay my bill?

You can view or pay your tax bill at our citizen self-service page by clicking here or by visiting the Treasurer's Office located at 57 S. Center Dr., Daleville, VA 24083.

The Treasurer’s office also offers “Advance Payment” options for real estate taxes. This can be accomplished in one of two ways:

  • Option number 1:  The taxpayer can mail in payments, with their parcel ID number on their check, and an advance payment will be created to be applied to the bill in the fall. Checks can also be mailed in.
  • Option number 2:  The taxpayer can establish a monthly auto-debit with the Treasurer for a set amount to be withdrawn from a bank account on the 3rd day of each month.  The resident must call the Treasurer's Office at 540-928-2030 and select option #2 to request a form and they will give an estimated monthly amount based on the current tax rate. Once the tax rate is set by the Board of Supervisors, the resident can call and ask that a new monthly amount be recalculated.

Most of the time after the advance payments there will still be an amount due on November 1st, The Treasurer's Office will send a letter after the bills are created telling how many automated payments are left. The resident would then subtract those payments from the balance on the bill and pay the difference before November 1st.

The bills are created and mailed by September 15th with a due date of November 1st

The annual 10% penalty is broken into 2 stages:

  • 2% is added at midnight on November 5th
  • Interest begins on December 1st, and an additional 8% penalty is added at midnight on December 5th.

For any taxpayer that is behind on their real estate taxes, the Treasurer’s Office can offer payment plans, as long as they have not been sent to Taxing Authority Consultants, PC for collection. Contact the Treasurer at (540)928-2030.
