How do I get the County to take over maintenance on my private road?

Private roads are the responsibility of private homeowners or property associations to maintain. In order for a private road to be accepted into the state maintenance system, these roads must be improved to the standards of the public highway system which can quickly become costly for many homeowners. This may include widening, paving, curb and guttering, and other improvements.
