There are position weight limits, this means that players that do not meet the weight requirements will be “restricted position players”. Restricted position players may never advance the ball. Anytime a restricted position player, identified by their jersey number, comes into possession of the ball during a live play, the ball will automatically be blown dead from the spot. Restricted position players are required to wear a jersey number from 60-69.
8U- Position weight limit - 110 pounds (only for age 8, no weight limit for age 7)
10U- Position weight limit - 125 pounds (only for age 10, no weight limit for age 9)
12U- Position weight limit - 130 pounds (only for age 12, no weight limit for age 11)
Roanoke County will conduct a “weigh-in day” in which staff from Roanoke will weigh players in the upper year of an age division. If a player is not weighed by Roanoke by the weigh-in deadline, that player will automatically become a restricted position player.
Practice location options will be provided by Botetourt Parks & Recreation. Coaches will have the opportunity to choose their practice location among the options provided.
