What you need to know:
1.Begins on February 15 and lasts through April 30.
2. No burning until after 4:00 p.m. if the fire is within 300 feet of woodland, brushland, or field containing dry grass or other inflammable material.
3. Fire must be attended at all times if the fire is within 150 feet of woodland or other dry fuel leading to woodland.
4. No fuel may be added or fire started after midnight.
5. Law applies to campfires, warming fires, brush piles, household trash, stumps, fields of dry grass and brush, or anything capable of spreading fire.
Any Botetourt County resident that chooses to burn anytime of the year is encouraged to notify the Botetourt County Emergency Communications Center at (540) 473-8631 prior to burning.
