PUBLIC NOTICE for June 20, 2023 Republican Party Primary

Here is some information from the Botetourt County Department of Elections and Voter Registration concerning the June 20, 2023 Republican Party Primary. 

The only offices to be on the June ballot are Board of Supervisors Members for Blue Ridge and Valley districts. Voters in these two districts are the only voters eligible to vote in this primary. Voters in Amsterdam, Buchanan, and Fincastle districts will not be voting. 

In-Person Early Voting Dates: Friday, May 5, 2023 - Saturday, June 17, 2023 @ 5:00 pm

• All qualified, registered voters in the Blue Ridge and Valley districts are eligible to vote early during this time at the Department of Elections & Voter Registration Office located at 2 East Main Street, Fincastle (corner of Roanoke & Main Streets). Office Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm. (Closed Monday, May 29, 2023 in observance of Memorial Day holiday) Saturday Hours are Saturday, June 17, 2023 8:30 am-5:00 pm (Final day of early voting)

Deadline to register or update registration: Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 5:00 pm for in-person registrations; 11:59 pm for online registrations Registration can be updated in person, by mail or online at elections.virginia.gov

Deadline to submit Vote By Mail ballot application is Friday, June 9, 2023 at 5:00 pm NOTE: Vote By Mail ballot is the same ballot used for Early Voting and at polling locations on Election Day. If you received a Vote By Mail and decide to vote in-person, you must surrender the Vote By Mail ballot.

Vote By Mail Drop Locations: 

• Department of Elections & Voter Registration Office, 2 East Main Street, Fincastle (corner of Roanoke & Main Streets) Dropbox slot for marked Vote By Mail ballots located in vestibule of office entrance.
• Voters may personally deliver their marked ballot to the Department of Elections & Voter Registration Office during regular business hours. (Hand-delivered ballots can only be accepted from voter ballot issued to. All others must go in dropbox or be mailed.)
• Polling locations in Blue Ridge and Valley districts on Election Day, Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 6:00 am-7:00 pm. To find out more about locations, click here. 

Potential voters who will be 18 years old on or before November 7, 2023: If you will be 18 years of age on or before November 7, 2023 you are eligible to register to vote at any time prior to the registration deadline for June 20, 2023 Republican Party Primary and vote in the primary if you live in one of the two designated districts.
