Join BoCo Libraries and our partners as we highlight local folklore and teach you how to distinguish between fact and fiction.

Activities include:

  • StoryWalk: Bigfoot Cinderrrrrella by Tony Johnston
  • Storytelling performance by Bill Lepp, author of The Monster Stick
  • Tracking Bigfoot
    • Compare tracks from native Botetourt animals vs Bigfoot
    • Make animal track and Bigfoot stamps
    • Make your own foot/shoe impression and compare against Bigfoot impression
    • Bigfoot's diet:
      • Learn the difference between pellets and scat
      • Dissect owl pellets to see how we can tell what an owl has eaten
      • Dissect Bigfoot scat to see how we can tell what Bigfoot has eaten
      • See how their diets compare
  • Are You Stronger Than a Bigfoot?
    • Arm wrestle Bigfoot - Put your best foot, I mean arm, forward and see if you can beat Bigfoot in this mano y mano (or is it mano y pie?) competition.
    • Puzzle Madness - You didn't know that all those years of matching shapes and puzzle pieces in school would pay off, did you? Now see how fast you can put together a puzzle. The clock is ticking against you and Bigfoot.
    • Obstacle Course - Test your agility against the man with the biggest feet in this fun course that will keep you on your toes

We can't wait to see you at the Eagle Rock Library on July 16th from 11am - 2pm!
