Botetourt County Tax Bills will be mailed on September 15, 2023. Taxes are due on November 1, 2023.  Visit www.botetourtva.gov/payments for details.

 Payment Methods:

  • By eChecks or Credit Card Online: For payment by "virtual check", Discover, MasterCard, or Visa online, visit our Citizen Self Service.  All card and “virtual check” transactions have an associated transaction fee.
  • At the Bank: If you present your tax bill(s), you may pay your Botetourt County real estate and personal property taxes at the following bank branches within the County boundary: First Bank and Bank of Botetourt.

  • In-Person: At the Treasurer's Office, Botetourt County Administration Center (57 S. Center Dr., Daleville, VA 24083), Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. Cash, checks, money orders, Visa, Discover, and MasterCard accepted.  All card transactions have an associated transaction fee.

 Taxpayers may pay real estate tax bills in advance at any time. The Treasurer's office accepts any size payments at any time to be applied to future real estate tax bills. Payments need to include the property ID number.

The Botetourt County Treasurer, one of five Constitutional Officers in the County, is responsible for receiving all funds coming into the county government, properly accounting for county funds, and distributing payment of all county financial obligations authorized and approved by the Board of Supervisors. Notice of Delinquent Taxes and Judicial Sale of Real Property:

On August 12, 2023, or as soon thereafter as may be affected, actions will be commenced under the authority of Virginia Code §58.1-3965, et seq., to begin proceedings to sell the following parcels of real estate for the payment of Botetourt County and, where marked with an asterisk, The Town of Buchanan delinquent real estate taxes. Click here for the full list.

Properties subject to delinquent real estate taxes may be redeemed by paying all accumulated taxes, penalties, interest, costs, and fees. Payments should be made payable to Botetourt County and/or the Town of Buchanan and mailed to Taxing Authority Consulting Services PC, Post Office Box 31800, Henrico, Virginia 23294.
