Treasurer’s Office

County of Botetourt Important Tax Notice:

Real Estate and Personal Property Tax Payment Due Date: November 1, 2022

Tax bills have been mailed insofar as possible; however, failure to receive a bill does not relieve the taxpayer of any additional charges of penalty or interest that will accrue under the law for late or non-payment of the tax assessment.

Payment for these taxes must be postmarked or received by the Treasurer's Office on or before November 1, 2022, to avoid penalty.  For your convenience, payments can also be made at Botetourt County branches of Bank of Botetourt and First Bank.  Pay online by clicking here.

Mission of the Treasurer

The Botetourt County Treasurer, one of five Constitutional Officers in the County, is responsible for receiving all funds coming into the county government, properly accounting for county funds, and distributing payment of all county financial obligations authorized and approved by the Board of Supervisors. Everyone who deals with our office should end each encounter feeling warmly greeted and fairly treated by an honest, professional individual who has competently fulfilled all of the customer's needs in a timely manner.
