The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization that supports library projects and programs.
Thanks to the Friends' support, the libraries have added new furniture, special book collections, cafes, and more. Friends also sponsor special presenters, such as author talks and Summer Learning Challenge performers.
The Friends of the Library, Inc. has four chapters associated with our four full-service locations. Each Friends chapter elects its own officers, which typically include a president, vice-president, treasurer and secretary. Learn more about each chapter: Blue Ridge, Buchanan, Eagle Rock and Fincastle.
Members vary in their level of contribution. Some volunteer every week and attend monthly meetings, while others participate occasionally with special projects or events. Other members simply pay dues without further involvement. You decide how involved you want to be!
Anyone who wants to support our libraries can be a member!

The Friends accept donations of gently used books, DVDs and CDs. All proceeds directly benefit library projects and programming.
